In addition to the flocking, I added some silver and clear candlesticks with white candles, and these pretty glass bottles filled with water and fresh cypress from the yard. Of course, I think I waited for about 20 hours. The instructions say, wait 24 to 48 hours, for the flocking to dry out completely. I found that using a sifter and a cup gave me a nice varied look. Then using a sifter or even just a plastic cup to dust the flocking powder onto the garland using as little or as much as you want. The powder comes with instructions but basically all you need to do is spray your item with water. You need to cover the ground underneath, and it's a good idea to wear a mask and gloves. This flocking powder was pretty amazing but messy. I used flocking powder on some old artificial garland and a few tabletop Christmas trees to give this mantel a snowy white feel.
